Occupy Oakland is apart of the bigger "Occupy Wallstret" movement (where the original protest began). The people are mainly protesting about social and economic inequality, corporate greed, corruption and influence over goverment from the financial service sector and Lobbyist. the participants, slogan which is "We are the 99%" refers to the difference in the U.S. btween the wealthiest 1% and the rest of the population.

Me personally, I think that the movement is a good way to bring the issues to the face of the government. As a American citizen we have the right to peacefully assemble, so the participants are not doing anything wrong. It is very important however, that the protesters do not lose focus on the main goal, to close the gap between the majority and the 1%. There is no reason to shut them down for violence and illegal activities happening inside the frank ogawa plaza when it was being over looked for the past couple of years, why is it that big of a concern now?

It seems to me that the rich keeps getting richer off the backs of the poor, and this has been going on for century's. And once again, the so called "little people" are fed up this set up. Now the real question is, will we be able to make these jerks that are in power see what the hell they have done and have been doing to the economy for years? The day that happens we will all better off as a nation and can move on to better and bigger concerns that our nation is facing. But with money hungry people who only give a damn about themselves, we will never have anything to show for our life's but having to work like hound dogs all of our life's, which seems to me is always the case with 75% of the world.
